Position Description:

Good News Church is seeking a passionate, dynamic, and spiritually mature individual, to serve as Pastor to lead our congregation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the Word of God, possess leadership qualities, and have a heart for evangelism, discipleship, and community outreach.

Position requires a 6 month probationary period, during which the Pastor will:

1. Prepare and deliver weekly Sunday sermons. 

2. Teach the Word of God via bible study.

3. Pastor should expect to participate in various other church activities.

* Upon completion of 6 month probationary period, key responsibilities include:​

Key Responsibilities:

• Preach and teach the Word of God with clarity, relevance, and faithfulness.

• Provide spiritual leadership and guidance to the congregation.

• Perform pastoral duties including baptisms, funerals, bible study, and prayer.

• Oversee and support church ministries and staff (where applicable).

• Engage in community outreach and evangelism efforts to grow the congregation.

• Lead the church in vision casting and strategic planning for ministry growth.

• Maintain a personal relationship with God, prioritizing prayer, scripture reading, and spiritual discipline.

Qualifications:

• Must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ, with a passion for pastoral ministry and the local church.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Divinity, Theology, Ministry, or a related field preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pastoral ministry or a similar leadership role preferred.

• Proven experience in preaching, teaching and leading.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with people of all ages and backgrounds.

• Ability to lead, mentor, and develop leaders within the church.

• Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
